The Centre for Quantum Technology at the University of Glasgow brings together physicists, engineers and computer scientists to tackle cutting-edge scientific and technological research and innovation in the area of quantum.
Strong Foundations
With the 2nd largest UKRI grant income in quantum technology, a Post Graduate Research population of 95, over 20 InnovateUK collaborative quantum technology industrial projects and over 50 industrial partners, we are one of the most prominent quantum technology centres in the UK.
When looking at citation data, the University of Glasgow has one of the best academic profiles in the UK, further enhanced by the highest number of outputs with international co-authors and with non-academic co-authors.
It is no surprise that the Centre plays a fundamental role in the UK National Quantum Technology Programme; leading QuantIC, the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Imaging and participating in all four Quantum Technology Hubs in the UK programme.
Mission and Strategy
The Centre for Quantum Technology aims to establish the University of Glasgow as an internationally recognised centre of excellence in quantum technology, from fundamental understanding through to translating world-changing technologies to industry.
We will deliver this by building upon our critical mass of excellent research and industrial connectivity to develop a stronger brand, increase internal coordination and cohesion, attract and retain talent, develop skills at all levels, drive large strategic research and innovation initiatives and form stronger partnerships with academic, industrial and government stakeholders.
