Chinese Qigong session with Feixia Yu - Monday 22.04.2024 at 4:00pm-5:00pm

Join us for a FREE traditional Chinese Qigong session with Feixia Yu, learning gentle stretching techniques to improve health & wellbeing.

An ideal way to recharge for work or study, start your week by gently stretching the body and relaxing the mind.

All are welcome to join us on Monday the 22nd April 2024 at 4:00pm-5:00pm, you can secure your free place by signing up for a ticket via Eventbrite. The location will be on the University of Glasgow main Gilmorehill Campus, with the room location due to be confirmed soon.

About the session

The free session will begin with a quick introduction to the practice, the history and benefits of Qigong. Feixia will then lead participants in the movements, providing information and guidance on relevant meridians and acupoints and the intended function of the movements.  

No gym clothing or mats required, as positions and stretches will be beginner level and performed in a standing position.  

This event is part of a day of free events, organised by the Confucius Institute at the University of Glasgow, to celebrate the UN Chinese Language Day 2024. A tea/coffee reception will be held after the Qigong session finishes between 5:00pm-6:00pm, which all are welcome to attend.  

About Feixia  

Founder of YuTaichi & Qigong Ltd, Feixia Yu runs weekly Taichi and Qigong classes online and in person. Feixia regularly features in local media including BBC Radio Lancashire and the Lancashire Evening Posts on various aspects of Chinese culture. Her area of research interests is in Qigong as an exercise intervention tool for a range of conditions including Long Covid, Hypertension, Parkinson’s, and Spine Misalignment.  

Feixia is keen for more people to benefit from Taichi and Qigong, and to experience this beautiful art of health enhancement from China.  

A member of China Association of Medical Qigong, a senior instructor at British Health Qigong Association, and an in-door disciple of Chen Xiaowang, Grandmaster in Chen Style Taichi.  Her Taichi Qigong classes typically fuse together aspects of different disciplines of Daoyin and Yoga. Some of the sitting routines in Qigong are also known as Chinese Yoga, so there are lots of fusions in these two Eastern disciplines of Body-Mind practice.
